When General Dynamics Decision Systems (GDDS) approached
Wave Three Software, they were developing the ReadySET command
system, a portable command center capable of addressing virtually
any homeland security communications need. GDDS's requirement was
to deliver a flexible, interoperable, multimedia solution capable
of being rapidly deployed to military personnel and emergency service
providers in remote locations.
Understanding these parameters, Wave Three Software introduced GDDS
developers to its Session software; a complete IP communications
solution, providing voice, video and data in a single software application.
Session provided GDDS with several unique advantages: (1)
the highest quality IP communications, at lower frame rates and
bandwidth than other solutions; (2) voice, video and data collaboration
in a single application; and (3) a modular, standards-based solution
designed for interoperability, manageability and scalability.
The ReadySET system, with Wave Three Softwares Session
communication software, is now positioned as the nation's foremost
field solution for emergency/disaster management. It integrates
videoconferencing, telephony, digital imagery, data, two-way radio,
and message services into a unified network specifically engineered
to exceed the needs and expectations of all homeland defense and
emergency service providers. The ReadySET system is currently
being deployed in search and rescue, oil exploration, anti-terrorism,
disaster relief, telemedicine and humanitarian efforts.
