Session™ Communication Software
Session™ personal computer software is the first solution to bring high quality communication to the desktop in an easy to use and install format. Session™ integrates Instant Messaging, Voice Over IP, Video Over IP, application sharing and media sharing into a single tool for standard desktop and laptop computers. It is designed from the ground up, using Internet standards, to deliver quality communications in a software-only solution.

Session™ runs over existing general-purpose computers, including Pentium III, Pentium 4 and equivalent computers as well as Apple G4 or G5 desktop and laptop computers. It runs over any network that delivers IP packets, including intranets, extranets or the public Internet. It operates over IP, Ethernet, ATM, DSL, cable modem, LMDS, MMDS and 802.11 wireless networks. Because of the support for standard infrastructure, the software is inexpensive to deploy and operate.

Text Messaging
Taking advantage of the SIMPLE standard from the IETF, Session™ offers an industry leading solution for enterprise messaging and presence. Going beyond consumer type solutions, Session™ provides a strong text messaging foundation for basic communication and for setting up other communication sessions including audio and video.

Voice over IP
The Session™ integrated Voice over IP software includes a number of standard audio codecs, including G.711, G.722 and G.723, at varying sampling rates. Session™ automatically selects an audio codec and sampling rate to provide the best quality based on available bandwidth and processing power. Because Wave Three has implemented SIP-based Voice over IP, the application is interoperable with other computer-based applications like Windows® Messenger as well as SIP-based phones developed by companies such as Cisco, Avaya and Nortel.

Video over IP
The Session™ integrated Video over IP application provides up to full screen, 30 frames per second video. Video compression and decompression is handled entirely in software on the host processor in the computer. The Wave Three video compression is based on an advanced wavelet algorithm that delivers better subjective video quality, at lower frame rates and bandwidth than other compression algorithms. Plug in a web cam or conference room camera for full screen, full motion video. Session™ is specifically designed to minimize latency (delay) and optimize performance on open networks, including the Internet.

Web Collaboration
The Session™ integrated communication and collaboration suite includes a web based application sharing tool that lets user work together over virtually any desktop application from Microsoft Office® to custom design applications. The Wave Three PictureTalk solution displays any application running on one computer to another computer across any IP network, including intranets, extranets, or the Internet. The user at the remote computer sees the application, and can operate the application from their remote mouse and keyboard. The application display is updated in realtime. The remote computer does not have to locally run the shared application.
