Conference Management Services At Your Fingertips

Session™ provides scheduling to end-users in addition to load and bandwidthmanagement tools enabling network administrators to optimize the system for operation on their existing networks.

Using standard web browsers, users access Session Conference Management Services to schedule and initiate calls. Conference users schedule and make changes to conferences and receive both a screen and a Conference Server generated email confirmation. The email confirmation can be forwarded to other participants with the user’s existing email application and address book.

To enter a conference, a user simply enters the conference address in the Session client as one would in a URL in a web browser. An example of a typical conference address is:

departmentmeeting@yourcompany.com

When scheduling a conference, users can set up “Open” or password “Protected” calls. Should an initiator opt to password-protect a conference, only parties with the password may enter the conference. For open calls, participants simply enter the address of a conference and they may enter and leave the call as desired.

Bandwidth and server capacity management features are extremely important components for implementing a high quality, real-time communication and collaboration infrastructure. System administrators use the Conference Management Services to define these settings as well as user privileges, including giving individual users or groups of users the ability to establish Open or Protected conferences.
